Question Shimazawa

Regarding the wire rods used for the springs, normally, we see the numerical values of the tensile strength, but how about the standard numerical values of the hardness (micro Vickers value)? Please tell me the values for SWPA/SWPB/SUS materials.

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for writing to us, Shimazawa! The hardness varies depending on the wire diameter, so for example, for piano wire (SWP-A, B), it is necessary to convert it from the tensile strength described in JIS G3522. If you know the detailed wire diameter, please let us know.
