POSTPONEMENT OF SUBCON THAILAND 2021

We are very sorry to inform you that The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), The Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association and Informa Markets, the organizer of the Subcon Thailand, has decided to postpone the event due to the impact of the COVID-19. The event was scheduled to take place on 12-15 May but will now be rescheduled to 22-25 September 2021 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center, Bangkok.

It is with great regret that the event is not going to be organized as planned but we do hope the situation will get better and we can meet you in September. For the time being, stay safe and healthy!

Our custom compression springs are installed in the asteroid explorer “Hayabusa2”!

 

As many of you might know, Hayabusa2 launched by H-IIA Rocket No. 26 in December 2014 has succeeded in retrieving samples from the asteroid Ryugu.
Hayabusa2 is equipped with a sample collection mechanism mounted on the bottom of the probe.
It was developed by the Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI Group) and our custom compression springs are used for this long cylindrical object called a “horn” that made an important contribution to this success.
This “horn” consists of eight moving parts but uses no motors at all. Most of the necessary movements of it are implemented by springs.
The horn is folded when the probe launches on the surface and stretched in outer space.
It does not only help to keep the distance so that the aircraft itself does not crash onto the ground, but also is responsible for absorbing shocks when the probe launches. It is such a great pleasure for Tokai Spring to be a part of this major discovery and we are looking forward to more opportunities in the future to contribute our best to your projects!
