Question Wachi

Nice to meet you, my name is Wachi.
When I read the material inventory list, it says SW-C (80C). Does this 80C mean carbon content? In that case, what is Young’s modulus of SW80C? (Is there any difference from the SWC Young’s modulus listed in JIS?) Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for writing! Generally, it is divided into groups of 0.30% C, 0.40% C, 0.50% C, 0.60% C, 0.70% C, 0.80% C according to the carbon content, so the name 80C is for 0.80% carbon.
By the way, Young’s modulus is 206000N/mm2, which is the same as in JIS.
