Question YAMATO

Nice to meet you, I will post here for the first time this time. Is it possible to perform tempering after joining two flat springs by spot welding? Thank you.

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for writing to us, YAMATO!

Regarding spot welding, with a relatively small amount of carbon, it is possible to use stainless steel plates (SUS304CSP, etc.). However, please note that for SK5 and SUP materials, which contain a lot of carbon, there may be some restrictions to tempering to some extent, and the possibility of cracking increases!
