Question Matsu

Nice to meet you.

We are designing flat springs. We would like you to give us some information regarding the following materials’ properties:
SUS301-CSP 1/2H
SUS301-CSP 3/4H
SUS301-CSP H
SUS301-CSP EH

SUS304CSP 1/2H
SUS304-CSP 3/4H
SUS304-CSP H
SUS304-CSP EH.

The characteristics we want to know are strength, Poisson’s ratio, spring limit value, and the coefficient of linear expansion. Also, what is the difference between SUP and SUS when used as spring materials?

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for writing to us, Matsu!
The properties of each material are as shown in the table above. (* SUS304-CSP EH is not in JIS).
In addition, SUS material has better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than SUP material, but its strength is inferior.
