Development by JAXA of Japan’s new H3 core rocket is progressing. This rocket innovates on the current H-IIA core rocket and aims for ease of operability from the user’s perspective through its flexibility, improved reliability, and low costs, among other features.Tokai Spring Industries has been entrusted by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. to handle the development and manufacturing of springs for the liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen main valves in the first stage main engine (LE-9) and the second stage engine (LE-5B) as well as springs used for separating the first and second stage engine bodies. The valve springs are linked significantly to the engine’s combustion performance, and the springs for the engine separation are essential for their elasticity that can reliably produce the energy for separation in outer space. Tokai Spring Industries supplied the springs used in the H-2A and B rockets and is now part of the H3 rocket project. We will continue to demonstrate our good performance and excellent technical capabilities while working together with our many partners to actively contribute to Japan’s satellite launching enterprise and the practical usage of outer space in societal development.
