Challenge

We received an inquiry regarding a coil spring for a prototype unit to be installed in ultra-precision medical equipment. The spring required highly accurate load characteristics and an extremely large aspect ratio, and non-magnetic performance was an essential condition. As a result, this was a product that demanded very advanced capabilities in both design and manufacturing.

Solution

To meet the non-magnetic requirement, it was essential to select a special material known for being difficult to machine. In addition, the project required maintaining highly precise spring load characteristics while strictly meeting tight dimensional tolerances, creating significant technical challenges throughout both the design and manufacturing processes.
However, based on Tokai Spring’s accumulated design and manufacturing know-how and extensive experience, we successfully finalized the optimal specifications and ensured consistent quality.

Result

Even under special conditions where non-magnetic performance is required, our springs maintain a high level of load accuracy and have been highly evaluated by customers for their reliability and stability.
