Minimizing spring buckling during compression

When coil springs are compressed, the spring bodies buckle laterally (buckling). However, this is not controlled by general standards. For applications in which outer cases or guides are used with springs, if the buckling is large, the springs may come into contact with the cases or guides and damage them. To prevent this, either the cases have to be big or the guides have to be very thin. Tokai Spring has the manufacturing know-how to control this buckling, and by using our products, it is possible to maximize the space in your designs.
