Achieving a Design that Balances Long-Term Durability and Cost Efficiency

In environmental plants that involve outdoor installation and chemical handling, the selection of highly corrosion-resistant springs has a significant impact on equipment reliability.
In outdoor plant facilities where corrosion tends to progress easily, Tokai Spring achieves an optimal balance between long-term durability and cost efficiency by selectively using corrosion-resistant coated springs and SUS (stainless steel) springs according to each application.
We are able to flexibly provide optimal anti-corrosion solutions tailored to the operating environment, including SUS (stainless steel) springs and high-performance corrosion-resistant coatings.

Challenges

Due to salt damage, humidity, and chemical splashes, conventional springs developed red rust within a few years, leading to equipment downtime and frequent replacements.

Solutions and Implementation

SUS springs were applied to areas with a high risk of corrosion, while corrosion-resistant coated springs were used in locations where strength and cost efficiency were also critical.
SUS materials provide excellent corrosion resistance, while the corrosion-resistant coating offers high durability and protective performance despite being chromium-free.

Results

After the design change, spring service life was significantly extended, resulting in a substantial reduction in replacement frequency and maintenance workload.
By selecting appropriate materials for each application point, optimization of both cost and performance was successfully achieved.
