Question Momotarou

For some special reasons, we need to use the disc springs within the range of 90% to 100% (close to solid height) of the total deflection. Will there be any problems other than the rapid increase in the spring constant?

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for posting Momotarou!

If the disc springs are used in the range of 90 to 100% of the total deflection, in addition to the increased load characteristics, for static use such as washers, it may deformed and free height is reduced. In addition, if the application requires fatigue strength, the high-stress amplitude may cause early breakage. We recommend that you make an appropriate durability evaluation according to the application of the disc springs!
