Question Spring Newbie

The following standard compression spring (stainless steel, wire diameter: 0.8 mm, outer diameter: 12 mm, length: 34 mm, maximum load: 0.95 kg, maximum compression length: 7 mm) reciprocates with a maximum of 15 mm and a minimum of 20 mm. I would like to know the fatigue durability of this spring when it is used. Is it more than 10^7 times?

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for your post, Spring Newbie!
Regarding the durability of springs, the durability limit diagram of stainless steel is not specified by JIS, so it cannot be evaluated based on the standard, but if the spring’s length during compression is between 20 mm and 15 mm, you can expect durability of 10^7 times or more.
If compression is repeated up to a length difference of 7 mm, the spring’s service life will be less than 10^7 times.
