I would like to put a spring in a hole and apply a load with a plate from above with the head protruding a few millimeters. If the plate stops at the edge of the hole and the deflection is within the allowable deflection, is it possible to use it repeatedly without any problem even if a load exceeding the allowable load of the spring is applied?
Yes, I think it can be used repeatedly. Unless the spring is loaded with more than the allowable stress, there is no problem.
